Today, three significant pieces of legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Miller were passed in the Assembly, reflecting his dedication to improving education, public safety, and community well-being.
Assembly Joint Resolution AR156 – This resolution urges the federal government to provide legal remedies for individuals exposed to harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and to prioritize research into their long-term effects. This step aligns with the growing movement to address the health and environmental risks posed by these “forever chemicals.”
Assembly Bill A4220 – This bill revises Statewide transfer agreements for academic credit, simplifying pathways for students transferring between institutions of higher education. Additionally, it establishes the role of a New Jersey Transfer Ombudsperson to assist students and improve the efficiency of the credit transfer process, empowering more students to achieve their academic goals.
Assembly Bill A560 – This legislation requires transportation network company drivers, such as rideshare drivers, to complete an anti-human trafficking training course. By equipping drivers with the tools to recognize and respond to potential trafficking situations, the bill enhances public safety and contributes to the fight against human trafficking.
